Brownie Cake Protein Squares

I have been loving this recipe for replacing store-bought protein bars. It’s hard to find bars that offer top-quality ingredients, don’t taste like cardboard, and don’t break the bank!

These squares are a great way to get your protein in while being sent to flavor heaven! Ladies, these are a lifesaver for our period! ⠀

This chocolaty heaven is: ⠀

  • Packed with protein ⠀

  • Rich in healthy fats (Essential Fatty Acids = essential for life… we must ingest/eat them as the body cannot synthesize (make) them)⠀

  • Nutrient-dense ⠀

  • Magnesium-rich ⠀

WET INGREDIENTS⠀

  • 1 cup creamy almond butter (or nut butter of choice)

  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup⠀

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract⠀

  • 3 organic eggs

  • 1/4-1/3 cup water or milk (aim for brownie batter consistency) ⠀

DRY INGREDIENTS ⠀

  • 3/4 cup + 2 Tbsp collagen powder ⠀

  • 1/3 cup coconut sugar

  • 1/2 cup raw cacao powder⠀

  • 2 tablespoon coconut flour ⠀

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda⠀

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt⠀

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

  • 1/3 cup pecans or walnuts (optional) ⠀

DIRECTIONS ⠀

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a square baking pan. Set aside. ⠀

  • In a medium bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients (except nuts & chocolate chips). ⠀

  • In another medium bowl mix, all of the wet ingredients until well combined. ⠀

  • Fold the dry mix into the wet mix. Work together until a smooth batter. ⠀

  • Fold in the nuts and chocolate chips. ⠀

  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan. ⠀

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the middle, comes out mostly clean (some crumbs are fine). ⠀

  • Remove from oven. Let cool for 10 mins. Then lift brownies out using the parchment paper, cool on a wire rack for 15 mins. ⠀

  • Cut into 9 pieces & enjoy! ⠀
